Saliva – el estudio is an online festival-publication about contemporary practices in the framework of choreography and dance. This project arises from the need to reflect on the current context of this sort of practices; and to understand the urges, desires and thoughts produced in the field. It is a project conceived by Ainhoa Hernández and Andrea Rodrigo. Saliva-el estudio is supported by INJUVE Grant and Gessnerallee Zurich.
Saliva – el estudio is the second materialization of Saliva: a long-term research project that emerges from a desire to shape a series of shared concerns and positions from the perspective of complicity, and an interest in finding practices and structures that allow for the production and support of other kinds of knowledge, forms of coexisting and working together, taking into account the sensible.
The first materialization of Saliva was a programme of public activities, which also included a study group, a radio and an exhibition that took place in CentroCentro, Madrid, between October 2018 and January 2019. Through conversations, performances and sessions devoted to reading, listening, handling materials and training, among other things, the activities considered, set in motion and proposed other means, appealing to other ways of perceiving and touching, a skin that talks, a tongue that touches. Those involved in the first materialization of Saliva were: Barriobajero, Futuro Studio, Irene Cantero, Aleksandra Lemm y Emma Daniel, De Ubieta, Laura Ramírez, Daniela Bershan a.k.a. Baba Eletronica, Simon Asencio and Adriano Wilfert Jensen, Lendl Barcelos and Ameen Mettawa, Nyamnyam, Mar Medina, Valentina Desideri and Denise Ferreira da Silva.
Andrea Rodrigo Rivero (Madrid, 1992) and Ainhoa Hernández Escudero (Madrid, 1989), together, think about devices of complicity and ways of producing knowledge and sensitivities, focusing on contemporary choreography and curatorial research.
